Hold up, this is seriously wild!
Nintendo has been dropping a ton of news lately, with Directs and Pokémon events, right? But this time, it's on a whole other level. It was an indie game showcase, but they secretly tied in the Switch 2, and then they were like, "You can play this TODAY!" Are you serious?! I almost spat out my coffee when I saw the original article. The indie game showcase ended with the announcement of "Blue Prince," an incredibly immersive puzzle game, and they said it was coming to Switch 2. And then, "Releasing today!" What? Today? Right now? Total panic!
[jito]Wait, they dropped a Switch 2 game and said it's playable TODAY?[kira] My jaw hit the floor![kira] Nintendo pulling out a surprise like this during an indie showcase is absolutely wild and unexpected.[normal]
Switch 2
Switch 2の購入を迷っている方へ
第一弾のラインナップとしてはインディー作品の充実度がむしろ安心感をくれる内容で、「まずインディーを満喫しながら大型タイトルを待つ」という楽しみ方が成立します。今後の発表からも目が離せません。
What kind of game is "Blue Prince"?
Basically, it's a puzzle game where the room structure constantly shifts and changes. Imagine an AR game on your phone where the walls move and new doors appear every time you point your camera around! There are always new discoveries, and it seems like you'll need to use your brain constantly to progress. Like those infinite staircases or sudden walls appearing in the movie Inception, you know?
Or, to put it another way, it's like a Dragon Quest dungeon where hitting a switch completely changes the layout of an adjacent room, making old paths disappear and new ones emerge – but that keeps happening endlessly. Exciting, but a little scary, right? (lol) Considering the Switch 2's performance, a game that constantly manipulates spatial recognition like this seems like a perfect match. If it runs smoothly without any slowdown, the immersion alone would be incredible.
Switch 2's indie strategy is seriously genius
Nintendo usually announces its big-name titles with a huge splash, right? But to drop a Switch 2 title as a surprise during an indie game showcase like this? That's a truly new strategy. This basically means that even before the new console is officially announced, they're preparing several playable games so that on launch day, they can say, "You absolutely HAVE to play these indie masterpieces!" They got me, they really pulled one over on us!
Normally, when new hardware comes out, big-budget games get all the attention, but the original Switch was an indie game treasure trove, wasn't it? It seems like they're firmly continuing that tradition with the Switch 2. In fact, using indie games for an early launch to showcase the new hardware's potential is a stroke of genius. Honestly, I don't fully understand the underlying mechanics, but I have to hand it to Nintendo's shrewdness. I never expected such a hidden gem. The Switch 2 is going to be seriously insane. Everyone, prepare yourselves!
