Nintendo Switch 2のローンチに向けて、新作ポケモンタイトル「Pokémon Pokopia（ポケモン ポコピア）」が発表されました。ナンバリング作品ではなく、スピンオフに近い位置付けの新シリーズです。

Pokopiaとはどんなゲームか

舞台は南国風の島「ポコピア島」。プレイヤーはポケモンたちと共に島を開拓・発展させながら、住民を増やして島の謎を解いていくというゲームデザインです。バトルよりも「共生」が軸になっていて、ポケモンが自分のペースで島に溶け込んでいく様子をじっくり体験できる作品になりそうです。

Switch 2 Exclusive? Are You Kidding Me?!

And get this: it’s exclusively for the Nintendo Switch 2! Seriously? Does this mean the next-gen console is actually happening? Ahhh, I’m getting so hyped! From what I’m gathering after reading the original article, this new Pokémon title seems to be very much like… Animal Crossing! Wait a minute, Pokémon and Animal Crossing combined? Does that mean we’re talking about a “laid-back, slow life with Pokémon”?! Imagine having your own house, a Bulbasaur in your garden, and waking up to a “Pika!” from Pikachu every morning. I’d eat three bowls of rice just thinking about that!

ポケモン30周年の節目に

2026年はポケモンの30周年に当たる年です。この節目にSwitch 2専用の新シリーズを立ち上げてきた任天堂とゲームフリークの意図は、ハードの普及促進とシリーズの新章開幕という2つのメッセージです。

Up until now, Pokémon has always been about defeating Gym Leaders, taking down evil organizations, catching legendary Pokémon—the classic RPG formula, right? And while that’s awesome, sometimes you just want to chill out, you know? Essentially, Pokémon is coming to Animal Crossing!

Pokémon Pokopia basically sounds like Animal Crossing: New Horizons, but with Pokémon heavily integrated into the game system. You build your own island or village, invite your favorite Pokémon, and live together with them. Is this real life?! I bet the furniture will be Pokémon-themed too—a Snorlax bed, a Poké Ball-shaped table, perhaps? And I’m guessing we’ll be gathering fruits and berries with our Pokémon, fishing, and bug catching. Just imagining it makes me happy! Personally, I’d love it if we could open a café with our Pokémon or even host fashion shows!

Honestly, I don’t fully understand the underlying mechanics yet, but this excitement is definitely legit! It’s slated for release on March 5th! Will it launch alongside the Switch 2? My anticipation is through the roof! Time to prepare my wallet, lol.
