3月2日、AnthropicのAIアシスタント「Claude」が大規模な障害を起こし、世界中のユーザーが利用できない状態になった。Redditのr/technologyでも16,000以上のUpvoteがつくほど話題になっている。

For anyone using Claude for work, this was no laughing matter. Imagine being in the middle of a critical code review or a lengthy translation – everything just froze. I've relied on Claude myself more than once, so this definitely hit close to home. While Anthropic hasn't officially detailed the cause, the explosive growth in AI service demand recently suggests that infrastructure might be struggling to keep up. OpenAI's ChatGPT also faced multiple outages last year, so it's not an isolated incident.

これ、仕事でClaude使ってる人にとっては洒落にならない。コードレビューの途中だった人、長文の翻訳かけてた人、全員フリーズ。自分も何度かお世話になってるから、他人事じゃなかった。

「AIに依存しすぎるとこうなる」という声も出ているし、まあ正論ではある。ただ現実問題として、一度AIを業務フローに組み込んだら、もう抜けない。だからこそ、各社にはちゃんとした冗長化をお願いしたいところ。
