M5 Pro/Max
Well, well, well, it's happened again. Apple has dropped another bomb with the announcement of their new M5 Pro and M5 Max chips. So, what exactly makes these so wild?
What Even Is an "18-Core CPU"?
First off, this "18-core CPU" thing. Hearing the number alone probably just makes you go, "Hmm." Honestly, for the average person blogging, watching YouTube, or tweaking Excel, it's totally overkill. Even the current M-series chips are more than enough. This kind of power is for hardcore video editing, running multiple professional-grade software applications simultaneously – basically, the "pro-level" stuff. Think of it as a magic wand that makes your work lightning fast. But if you're not a wizard, it's just a stick, right? (laughs)
[kira]Whoa, Apple just keeps pushing the boundaries![kira] An 18-core CPU and 3nm tech for the M5 Pro/Max is seriously impressive.[smile] It's exciting to see what they're doing with processing power.[normal]
「Fusion Architecture」

Oh, and apparently, there's a new "Fusion Architecture" this time. Without getting too technical, it basically means they've taken previously separate components and crammed them together into one super-smart brain. And it's all built using incredibly tiny 3nm technology, which boosts both power efficiency and processing speed. No wonder the new MacBook Pros are going to be even more powerful!
Apple says these chips will be in the new MacBook Pro models, so if you're buying a new Mac, you'll get to enjoy these benefits. But for us, the honest question is, how much of that performance can we actually utilize? I mean, M1s and M2s still run perfectly fine. Ultimately, what I'm getting at is: pros get to be even more professional, and average users are perfectly happy with what they've got.
Of course, cutting-edge tech is exciting, and there's always a chance it'll trickle down to our everyday devices in the future. So, it's worth keeping an eye on these announcements. If you're curious, check out the original article – it's in English, but you'll get the gist.
