バルミューダといえば、スチームトースターや扇風機で知られる日本のライフスタイル家電ブランド。そのバルミューダが、旅先にも持ち運べる目覚まし時計「The Clock Travel Edition」を発表したんです。The Vergeが報じました。

デザインのベースは1970年代のブラウン社製時計。ディーター・ラムスが手がけたあのミニマルなアナログダイヤルを現代風にアレンジしてあって、見た目はシンプルながら存在感がしっかりあるんです。

Hey everyone, what's your morning alarm situation like? I'm totally the type who sometimes hits snooze one too many times and then has to practically leap out of bed! But maybe, just maybe, we can all wake up a little more gracefully now!

So, I saw on The Verge (a super cool overseas tech media site!) that our very own Japanese brand, Balmuda, has apparently dropped a brand new alarm clock! And its name? The Clock! How simple and chic is that? Balmuda is totally famous for its stylish home appliances, like that steam toaster that makes the most delicious bread and those super comfy fans. I've been eyeing their toaster forever, but, you know, my snack budget… (lol)

携帯性へのこだわり

サイズは約100×100×35mm。旅行用のポーチにすっと入るコンパクトさで、重さも200g以下とのこと。充電はUSB-C対応で、バッテリー持続は最大1週間。ホテルのコンセントを探し回らなくていいのは地味に助かりますよね。

アラーム音は段階的に音量が上がる「漸増式」。いきなり大音量で叫ばれる系じゃなく、じわじわ意識を引き上げてくれる設計なんです。これ、目覚め方が全然違うんですよ。

価格と発売時期

価格は399ドル（約6万円）。バルミューダ製品らしいお値段です。日本での発売は2025年秋を予定。「旅先でもバルミューダと一緒に」がコンセプトで、普段使いも旅先でも同じ時計で過ごせるのが嬉しいポイントなんです。

お部屋のトースターがバルミューダ、目覚まし時計もバルミューダ……となると、おやつ代の捻出がますます大変になりそうですが（笑）、完成度は確かに気になります。

And guess what? The Clock absolutely doesn't disappoint on the design front! It's super minimalist, reminding me of those classic Braun alarm clocks with a really elegant dial. Dieter Rams totally taught us that even an alarm clock can be beautiful, and this is exactly it!

But it's not just a pretty face! This clock has hidden LED lights embedded in its analog-looking face. It's designed to wake us up gently with a combo of light and sound! No more sudden bright flashes that make your heart jump out of your chest! Plus, it even has a white noise function! Perfect for when you need to focus or drift off to sleep. It sounds like it could totally boost sleep quality AND concentration!

It's made from aluminum, so it feels super premium, and it's designed to be compact and easy to carry, perfect for travel! Hotel alarms can be so boring, so this would be an amazing travel companion. Balmuda products can be a bit pricey, and there's no price info for The Clock yet. But with this design and these features, I might just have to splurge! I wonder if I should put all my blog earnings next month into this… Hmm, decisions, decisions!
